Del Roscoe is a gothic indie Americana band based in Atlanta, built on grit, harmony, and haunted storytelling. While the band itself is new, its members are not. These are seasoned musicians who’ve lived through the losses, reinventions, and reckonings that come with age. Their debut album, releasing August 2025 on Waydrift Records, is both a culmination of those experiences and a bold new beginning.
The album came together in the shadow of personal loss. Not long after the band began shaping this project, their longtime friend and bassist, Paul Abrelat, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Knowing his time was limited, the band moved forward with urgency, determined to capture and share the music they had been building together. Paul recorded all of his parts before passing. The album is dedicated to him.
While primary songwriting comes from Robert Lee, Del Roscoe is deeply collaborative, with each member bringing their own voice and intuition to the arrangement and texture of the songs. The music drifts across Americana, indie folk, and cosmic country, grounded in emotional truth and shaped by weathered instrumentation, layered harmonies, and lived-in lyricism. These are songs about memory, distance, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going.
The band’s name comes from the brothers’ two loyal dogs, Del and Roscoe, who have been by their side for years. That same spirit of companionship and resilience runs through everything they create. From the hand-drawn artwork to their live performances, Del Roscoe builds an immersive world using handmade masks, props, and visual elements, rich in symbolism, steeped in mood, and grounded in human connection.
This record is more than a debut. It is a reminder that creative fire doesn’t fade with time, and that it is never too late to chase something meaningful. Del Roscoe is proof that now is the time to begin.
